When drifting Vietnam vet John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) finds himself in the small town of Hope, Washington, all he's looking for is a hot meal. But when the town's Sheriff (Brian Dennehy) takes an instant dislike to his presence, John is unjustly arrested on a charge of vagrancy, and thrown in jail.

At the hands of the local law enforcement, the intimidation escalates until an excessively cruel incident triggers flashbacks of the torture John endured as a prisoner of war. Pushed too far, he dramatically escapes custody and flees into the woods. But when the authorities show no signs of letting him go, John knows he has two choices... Run, or fight for his life!

Based on the 1972 novel by David Morrell and with a script co-written by Stallone, in some ways First Blood has more in common with other "one man against 'The Man'" films such as Taxi Driver than it does with the later 'Rambo' sequels. With a strong emotional backbone, dramatic tension, and plenty of exhilarating action, First Blood is a battle for survival not to be missed on the big screen!
